College Drone Center Ready to Take Flight
New drone research center near Dayton helps keep Ohio on the cutting-edge of future of flight.
In Dayton near the birthplace of aviation, Sinclair Community College has opened its National Unmanned Aerial Systems Training and Certification Center. The facility will serve for the design, construction, and testing of drone aircrafts. The state of Ohio funded $4 million to help bring the facility to fruition.
Nearly 500 students will take classes in The 28,000-square-foot building during this academic year. The program should give graduates an edge in this fast-moving and growing field, providing students access to 3D advanced manufacturing, drone simulators and a wind tunnel, in addition to more than 100 drones.
